1. What Information We Collect

Pollagraph collects only the information necessary to operate the platform:

Email address. Provided by you at the payment step. Used solely to send your $25.00 payment via email. We do not store your passwords or any financial account details beyond your email address.
Submitted paragraph text. The paragraph you write and submit in response to a prompt. Once accepted and paid, this paragraph becomes a work made for hire owned by Pollagraph under the Contributor Terms and is incorporated into Pollagraph's structured dataset.
Prompt response data. The prompt you responded to, the timestamp of your submission, and the structural validation result (qualified or not qualified).
IRS Form W-9 (where applicable). If your earnings from Pollagraph reach the reporting threshold in a calendar year, we will ask you to complete a W-9. This form collects your legal name, address, and taxpayer identification number (TIN or Social Security Number) for IRS 1099-NEC reporting. W-9 data is stored securely and used only for tax compliance.

2. How We Use Your Information

To process your payment. Your email is transmitted to PayPal to initiate your $25.00 payment. Pollagraph does not retain your email after payment is confirmed, except as required for tax records.
To build and license structured datasets. Your submitted paragraph — now owned by Pollagraph under the Contributor Terms — becomes part of a structured human reasoning dataset (SHRD). These datasets are licensed to institutions, researchers, and AI development organizations. Your paragraph is not attributed to you by name in any dataset.
To fulfill tax reporting obligations. If required by law, your name and TIN (from your W-9) will be reported to the IRS on Form 1099-NEC. Pollagraph does not sell or share W-9 data with any third party other than the IRS and applicable state tax authorities.
To operate and improve the platform. Submission timestamps and validation results are used to monitor platform performance and prompt quality. This data is not sold or shared externally in identifiable form.

3. How We Share Your Information

Pollagraph does not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

PayPal. Your email address is shared with PayPal, Inc. to process your payment. PayPal's privacy practices are governed by their Privacy Statement.
Tax authorities. W-9 data is reported to the IRS and applicable state tax agencies as required by law.
Legal compliance. We may disclose information if required by a valid court order, subpoena, or applicable law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Pollagraph, its contributors, or the public.
Business transfers. If Pollagraph is acquired, merged, or transfers substantially all of its assets, contributor data may transfer to the successor entity under the same privacy protections described here.

Your paragraph text, once incorporated into a Pollagraph dataset, may be licensed to third parties (AI labs, researchers, institutions) as an anonymous contribution. No personally identifying information is attached to paragraph text in any licensed dataset.

4. Cookies and Tracking

Pollagraph does not use advertising cookies, behavioral tracking, or third-party analytics services. The platform may use standard browser session mechanisms (such as URL query parameters) solely to pass the active prompt to the submission page. No cross-site tracking occurs.

5. Data Retention

Email. Retained for a minimum of 5 years from the date of payment for tax and audit purposes, then deleted.
Submitted paragraph text. Retained indefinitely as part of Pollagraph's structured dataset. Once transferred as a work made for hire, the paragraph is a Pollagraph business asset.
W-9 data. Retained for a minimum of 7 years from the date of the last associated 1099-NEC filing, as required by IRS recordkeeping rules, then securely destroyed.
Submission metadata (timestamp, prompt ID, validation result). Retained indefinitely for dataset integrity and audit purposes.

6. Your Rights — Florida Residents

Under the Florida Digital Bill of Rights (Chapter 501, Part II, Florida Statutes), Florida residents have the right to:

Know what personal data Pollagraph has collected about them
Correct inaccurate personal data
Delete personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
Opt out of the sale of personal data — Pollagraph does not sell personal data
Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

7. Your Rights — California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA), California residents have the right to:

Know what personal information is collected, used, shared, or sold — see Sections 1–3 above for a complete disclosure
Delete personal information we hold, subject to exceptions (tax records, legal obligations, dataset integrity)
Correct inaccurate personal information
Opt out of sale or sharing — Pollagraph does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
Limit use of sensitive personal information — the only sensitive data we collect is W-9 TIN data, used solely for IRS compliance
Non-discrimination — we will not deny service or payment for exercising CCPA rights

8. Your Rights — European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, Pollagraph processes your personal data on the following legal bases:

Contract performance — processing your email to pay you is necessary to fulfill the Contributor Terms
Legal obligation — W-9 / 1099-NEC processing is required by U.S. tax law
Legitimate interests — dataset integrity metadata is retained to maintain the provenance and authenticity of Pollagraph's structured dataset, a core business function

EEA and UK residents have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port their personal data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address in Section 12. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

International transfers. Pollagraph is based in Florida, United States. If you submit from the EEA or UK, your personal data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By participating in Pollagraph, you acknowledge this transfer. Pollagraph implements appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable law.

9. Children's Privacy

Pollagraph is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. Pollagraph does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information to Pollagraph, contact us immediately at the address in Section 12 and we will delete it promptly.

10. Security

Pollagraph uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No internet transmission or storage system is 100% secure. If you have reason to believe your data has been compromised, contact us immediately at the address in Section 12.

11. Changes to This Policy

Pollagraph may update this Privacy Policy at any time. The version number and effective date at the top of this page will reflect the current version. Material changes will be noted on the Pollagraph homepage for a minimum of 30 days after the update takes effect. Continued participation in Pollagraph after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
